This started as a horizontal panorama using a very wide angle lens to create a different angle, distortion and feel to the photograph. Then in Photoshop different filters where used to take it more towards looking like a painting. The final touch was to use Liquify in Photoshop to give the curly beard look. The idea was to create something more than just a photo and take it more towards an abstract feeling.
